The meeting place with Reizen-san was a small shrine near the studio.
There were no worshippers visiting the shrine on a weekday evening and I was feeling somewhat at loss for what to do.
Variants aside, whose personality has been transformed since the mythic age, I am not in the mood to pay respect to gods as I remembered the gods I had fought in another world.
「Sorry to keep you waiting. You’re early.」
Reizen-san appeared five minutes before the meeting time.
Unlike the last two times we had met, she was dressed in a stylish long skirt.
「I was worried about being late so I came a little early.」
I had a mischievous feeling that I wanted to reply “I just got here” as if we’re on a date but we are not close enough for me to joke like that.
I’ve told Yui what happened but I feel kind of bad about it.
No, I shouldn’t hold back or anything.

The recording takes place in a not-so-big studio in Tokyo.
At first glance, it looks like an ordinary building but the name of the studio is written on a small sign outside.
I followed Reizen-san into the elevator.
This is the first time for me to enter a recording studio, my previous life as a salaryman included.

After greeting the staff, Reizen-san enters the recording booth and I enter the adjustment room where the equipment is placed.
The booth is big enough for five to six people while the adjustment room is big enough to accommodate around 10.
I sit at the far end of the room, trying not to get in the way.
The voice actresses who are going to participate in the recording come in one after another, greet everyone, and enter the booth.
They are all well-known or at least familiar to me.
The all-female cast is nothing short of spectacular.

Today’s recording is “Fighting Athletes: Intense Sports Day”.
It’s a sporty sci-fi story set in the near future , where a sports tournament for female athletes is adopted as a proxy war between nations.
Although this is only an OVA, it was a smash hit that was later adapted into an anime.
It wasn’t until around this time that many OVAs other than sequels and spin offs were released.
I remember I was very much looking forward to many of them, many of which were even adapted to movies.
The cost of renting a video was quite a hardship for a student with no money but seeing them is worth it.
I was thrilled to be able to observe the recording of one of these memorable works.

While the voice actresses were reading their scripts and preparing their vocalizations, the adjustment room began to buzz with excitement.
「One of them has an acute appendicitis?」
「You’re not asking him to crawl here, are you?」
「I heard he was rushed to the hospital by an ambulance.」
「What did the office say?」
「It’s a small agency so they’re having a hard time finding replacements.」
「Seriously? I don’t care who plays a minor male character in this film. We don’t have the budget to hold another separate recording for it. Right, how about him?」
「Eh……what do you…..」
The staff all turned their gazes to me.
「I heard that you wanted to be a voice actor, right?」
Oi oi, are you serious……
