Along with a group of adventurers, we made our way to the forest road which was said to be guarded by a dragon.
「… How nostalgic.」
「Huh? Have you been here before?」
「Ah, n-no, it’s nothing. Let’s focus on the matter at hand.」
I was so thrilled that I said that but managed to evade Kiara’s question.
Of course, when I said 「nostalgic」 I meant it in terms of the game. Although it existed on the map, it was only made accessible as an event that players could participate in several years ago.
… I set foot in that area once again.
It was a familiar experience, but still filled me with emotion.
When I think about it, there are still several areas within Fantasy Farm Story that have been made accessible as events in this world.
However, there aren’t that many in number.
After all, it’s a long-standing title that has been released for many years.
There have been rumors that some recent events were just pointless and time-waster, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s exactly because of this game’s popularity among fans that it has stayed relevant for such a long time.
… Anyway, enough about the game. Let’s focus on our main objective.

We continued along the forest road, which in the game was akin to searching for treasure.
There were fallen giant trees, peculiar-shaped boulders, and other obstacles on the map that made it difficult to progress. However, there were hidden points scattered throughout, each containing an item to collect. That was the main content of the event when this forest road was first implemented.
However, this time our objective was to find a dragon with a colossal body.
I had thought that we would find it quickly, but something felt off.
「? Something’s not right…….」
Come to think of it, dragons are quite big.
Despite that, we didn’t even sense its presence.
「That’s strange… it’s nowhere to be seen.」
「Perhaps it’s further ahead……?」
It seemed that both Kiara and Martina had also sensed that something was amiss.
Naturally, even Gregory-san, who was at the front of the group, noticed.
「What’s going on?! Why isn’t the dragon here?!」
That’s right.
The dragon that was supposed to be there had disappeared without a trace.
「The information we received pointed to this area, right?」
「Y-yes. We have multiple witnesses and I’m pretty sure this is the place……」
One of the adventurers wiped his forehead and reported.
While the others were in a state of commotion, I found a clue.
「Gregory-san!」
「Hnn? What’s up, Bale?」
「The way the trees and grass are knocked down only in this location is unnatural.」
「! Y-yeah… you’re right. This wasn’t naturally caused.」
Furthermore, judging by the condition of the broken trees, it didn’t seem like it happened that long ago.
While it wasn’t certain that it was caused by the dragon, it was clear that something massive had been present in this spot.
But… wait a minute.
「Isn’t this… the same as the event content in the game?」
The treasure hunt event started in a similar fashion, as I recall… Does that mean the dragon is located where the treasure chest is hidden in the game?
However, the dragon and the treasure chests clearly don’t match in size.
Could it be that the dragon has shrunk rapidly due to some kind of reason?
…But that’s highly unlikely.
As I was pondering, Gregory-san gave instructions to the adventurers.
「Alright! Let’s search the area! And the first person who finds the dragon will receive a gold coin from me!」

The adventurers’ loud voices echoed, and they scattered to follow the trail of the disappeared dragon.
「We should go too!」
「Agreed!」
「Don’t be hasty.」
Hanon stopped Kiara and Martina from running off by grabbing the hem of their clothes.
「We have to find it quickly, or we’ll miss out on the gold coin!」
「That’s right, Hanon-chan!」
「I told you not to be hasty—-after all, our leader seemed to have some bright ideas, right?」
Then, out of the blue, Hanon threw a killer pass.
Perhaps she thought I was considering something from my expression.
This Alraune was surprisingly sharp.
「…..I can’t say for certain that it’s here, but I have a slight idea.」
I informed the trio and explained the search points.
For now, let’s follow the game event and see if it leads us to the missing dragon.
That way, we may be able to unravel the mystery of the vanished dragon.
