-Thiazi’s POV-
「Was that girl really that important?」
「Are you Nanba Kazu?」
I ignored the question and asked instead.
「Yes.」
I knew it.
There is no way any human can be this powerful.
The woman who came with them seemed pretty strong too.
「So, I guess you must be Thiazi.」
「Heh… I’m flattered you remembered. Humans tend to forget things easily.」
For a moment, Nanba Kazu frowned, but quickly returned to a poker face.
Provoking them seems to have no effect.
I shouldn’t assume their age based on their appearance.
「Humans in the world are starting to forget about me. It’s sad. It’s as if the incident that became the basis for the Boogeyman never happened.」
「Why did you cause such an incident? Didn’t you think it would lead to a more active Valiant hunting?」
「That’s none of your concern.」
I don’t care what happens to those who only live to eat.
Even if I end up being targeted like this, it’s better than living with loneliness.
「I see… You are dangerous after all.」
Nanba Kazu’s magical power began to surge.
Oi oi… isn’t your fuse too short……
「Hey, don’t get too worked up. How about this, if you let me go, I’ll return the girl from earlier. What do you say?」
「It’s not a bad move compared to directly taking hostages.」
「Exactly. Even if I were to hold a knife to a human in front of me, I’d probably lose my head before I realized it.」
There are ways to avoid that, but I’ll keep my trump card hidden.
「Unfortunately, if you run away, I’ll kill that girl.」
「What?」
What is this human saying?
「Kazu… Then it’s hard to tell who the real villain is.」
The woman is also pushing back, huh?
But her last remark is something I can’t ignore.
「Hey, woman. I don’t intend to play the villain. If you think I’m the bad guy from your perspective, then remember that to a pig, all humans are villains.」
「Well, that’s true. So, for us to survive, you’ll have to die.」
The woman seems just as determined.
I hate to say this, but she might want to consider leading a more normal life.
「No more pointless talk. It’s either you or the girl who dies.」
Nanba Kazu pulls a black-bladed sword from seemingly nowhere and takes a step closer.
I involuntarily take a step back.
The pressure he exudes is beyond belief.
Is this guy a demon king or something?
I thought Himiko-sama had gone mad thinking highly of Nanba Kazu but this guy really is alarming.
I can’t imagine a sane human seriously considering killing a girl to prevent the Variant from escaping, but this one might just do it.
There’s a frightening air about him that will make you think so.
