Chapter 69 – A New Plan

Regarding the matter in Nathan Village, Gregory-san was tasked with reporting to the Kingdom’s Knight Order.

The most noteworthy aspect this time was undoubtedly the clear evidence of someone’s guidance.

The incident with the bug-type monster attack in Eva Village occurred because, for some reason, the monsters had taken up residence there—a perspective shared by only a few members of the Order.

However, this time, there was unmistakable human intervention.

Certainly, the Order would take decisive action, as Gregory-san anticipated.

—Well, let’s leave the bureaucratic squabbles to the higher-ups.

I shall proceed with the expansion plan for the farm.

The day after returning from Nathan Village.

On this day, Kiara had business at the academy and was out since morning. Martina was exploring the dungeon, also absent. Furthermore, Simone had gone to Driessen Town to gather the necessary tools for tending to the livestock, accompanied by Hanon.

In other words, I find myself alone now.

「Come to think of it… this might be the first time I’ve been alone here.」

When I first visited this underground lake, Martina was already here—though she was unconscious.

After that, Kiara fell down, Hanon was born from the Alraune seed given by Slafin-san, and I met Simone.

It feels like quite a long time ago… but right now, I can’t afford to reminisce.

Our plans to expand the farm seem to be taking a slightly different shape than initially envisioned.

Originally, we intended to enlarge the livestock area and raise larger animals. However, upon closer examination, we concluded that the space was somewhat cramped. Considering that the dragon tree sword will continue to grow, there are various possibilities ahead. For now, I’ve decided to focus on cultivating what we can within our current boundaries.

Among these considerations, my attention is drawn to medicinal herb cultivation.

Up until now, our track record consists of the herb called rannerou, which Kiara had chosen as her research topic.

This time, I aim to cultivate several herbs that can also serve as materials for weapons. To achieve this, I’ll secure a new space dedicated to these endeavors.

「Perhaps this spot will suffice.」

The herb cultivation area will be right next to the crop cultivation area managed by Hanon.

As for the specific herbs I plan to grow, I want to focus on those with healing properties—ones that can restore stamina and alleviate ailments. The reason is simple, there’s demand for them.

For adventurers who spend extended periods in the dungeon, unforeseen situations are inevitable. Having a variety of items readily available for immediate use is essential. And what’s more, our herbs benefit from the magical energy present in the underground lake. Not only do they enhance their effects, but they also offer additional benefits.

This, too, will serve as a favorable appeal to Gregory-san.

「Very well. Now that the decision has been made, let’s begin cultivating—wait, what’s that?」

Just as I was about to create a dedicated space using the dragon tree sword, someone emerged from the treehouse, catching my eye and freezing my movements.

「That person is…」

The figure that appeared before me was none other than Kiara.

However… something seems off.

She appears less energetic than usual.

Has something happened at the academy?

Curious, I halt my work and hurry over to inquire about the situation.
