Chapter 121 – The Request

Regarding the Knight Order’s cafeteria improvement, while we still have a long way to go in addressing fundamental issues, I believe we’ve made a successful start.

Unexpected events unfolded, leading to a cooking showdown between Martina and Frank-san. Thanks to that (or so it seems), Martina’s prowess quickly spread throughout the Knight Order.

Now, Lawrence-san had arranged for us to spend a night at an inn in the capital city. But before that, I was summoned to the castle.

Well, I had a pretty good idea about the person who summoned me.

As if confirming my suspicions, Lawrence-san, my guide, led me to the office of Knight Commander Reginald.

「Excuse me.」

「Come in.」

I followed Lawrence-san into the office.

「Ah, I’ve been waiting for you.」

Knight Commander Reginald, seated in his chair, stood up and extended his hand toward me. We exchanged a firm handshake, and without delay, he broached today’s topic.

「I’ve already received reports from others. You managed to convince Frank-san, and it seems the Knight Order’s cafeteria improvement is progressing well.」

「Mostly thanks to Martina’s efforts.」

「Don’t sell yourself short. Without you, this wouldn’t even be a discussion. —now now, I’ve called you here today partly because of that but there’s another matter I wanted to talk with you about….. Something related to farming.」

「Farming?」

Apparently, that was the main topic for today.

The three of us moved to the round table indoors, sitting across from each other.

「Let me get straight to the point: Can you cultivate Hurricane Garlic at your place?」

「Hurricane Garlic?」

Ah, the name rings a bell.

Of course, it’s from the Fantasy Farm Story.

Hurricane Garlic, a vegetable known for enhancing wind-based magic, but it’s notoriously hard to obtain due to its peculiar natural habitat. Even in the game, obtaining it is no easy feat. You can only have the chance to get it once you’ve reached the intermediate class. But without a doubt, it is not something beginners can obtain.

And now Reginald-san seems to be seeking this very Hurricane Garlic.

「We don’t have any of it yet….do you need it?」

「Our new recruits in the Magic Corps seem to favor wind attributes. I’d like to strengthen them somehow….」

Ah, I see.

For wind mages, Hurricane Garlic is a must have.

「……Understood. I’ll explore whether we can acquire some here.」

「Excellent! Can I count on you?」

「Yes. Just know that I can’t guarantee anything…..」

「No worries. Now, there’s one more thing. Not a request, but more of a warning or precaution.」

「A warning?」

His choice of words felt ominous.

「Seems the Mist Witch you encountered before is on the move again.」

「The Mist Witch!?」

That Mist Witch, a world-renowned mage, was involved in wiping out the academy’s herbs. Her motives remain unclear, but it appears she’s interfering with the alliance negotiations between the Kingdom of Krentz and the neighboring Foresta Kingdom.

「She knows your faces. Be cautious.」

「Understood.」

The Mist Witch is on the move again—a disconcerting development.

On another note, I should consult with Gregory-san on where I can find Hurricane Garlic.

Perhaps he’ll offer a helpful hint.

The author is doing it again. When he first started, Bale had three elemental seeds. The flame tomato, the thunder paprika, and the ice pumpkins. Then for Hugo’s request he had to get ice pumpkins, heal potatoes, and storm garlic in addition to the tomatoes and paprika. Now he needs hurricane garlic, which has the exact same description as the storm garlic that he should’ve already had.

The author needs to keep a list if they have so many issues with their memory.
