Chapter 154 – To the Desert Village

The desert at the eastern edge of the continent refers to the Rem Desert.

While it exists in the game, it doesn’t leave a strong impression on regular players since there’s little need to visit it aside from specific events.

After all, the concept of the game is ‘Let’s farm in a fantasy world!’—so there’s really no purpose for players to go to a desert where crops can’t be grown.

…That said, since there’s a dungeon farm that acts as an official cheat, it seems feasible to do something in the desert as well. With the Dragon Tree Sword, it should be possible to alter the very soil.

According to Izolov-san, the village we were heading to had developed around an oasis, so there would be no shortage of agricultural water—a definite plus.

「What should we bring to the desert?」

「We definitely need drinks!」

「Then we should crush some cooling magic ore to keep everything chilled.」

「What about food?」

「Getting supplies on-site seems like it would be difficult.」

「Then let’s prepare some bento!」

It felt like the pre-trip excitement that had become a tradition for us.

I had felt a similar lack of tension when we tackled the Storm Valley. It might seem strange, but that was a strength of ours.

If the atmosphere is too tense, it can slow our movements and cloud our judgment, leading to more negatives than positives.

Once again, we would be traveling by carriage.

However, it was likely to be the longest distance we had ever traveled.

「Hmm… it might be wise to take a break somewhere.」

「Are we going to stay overnight?」

As I was staring at the map, Kiara approached me.

「The distance is greater than I expected. It might be difficult to reach in a single day.」

In the game, you could control a character on the map and move in just a few seconds.

But in this world, we couldn’t use such methods. We had to move on our own two feet, which meant we had to plan carefully.

「That means the key issue is where to stay… ah!」

As I was searching for candidate locations, a certain town caught my eye.

It was located midway between this dungeon and our destination, and from what I could tell, it seemed to be more developed than Driessen. There would be various shops there, so we could gather any items we realized we needed later.

「If we’re staying overnight, we should consider this town—Redos.」

「Redos?」

The new member, Ailia, reacted to that name.

「Have you been there before, Ailia?」

「No, not exactly… but I feel like I’ve heard that name somewhere.」

Ailia tilted her head in thought, trying to recall something—yet unfortunately, she couldn’t pinpoint a clear reason.

「I just can’t shake this feeling.」

「But that’s not a bad sign, right?」

「Yeah, it’s not anything like that.」

Ailia replied to Martina’s question.

Well, if it was a place that was genuinely dangerous, she’d probably remember it. So I didn’t think it was a problem.

Besides, if we were looking for other towns, our options would be nearly nonexistent.

For these reasons, we decided to aim for Redos.

「Alright! Let’s get ready to depart!」

「「「「「「Oh! 」」」」」

And so, we set off for the desert village where we would take on the challenge of farming.
