Amidst the lively school festival, we entered the academy grounds through the farm gate to avoid the hustle and bustle. As soon as we stepped inside, we were greeted by a familiar face.
「Bale! Long time no see! Glad to see everyone looking well!」
It was Williams-san, who was in charge of managing the academy’s medicinal herbs. Upon noticing our arrival, he cheerfully ran over to us.
「It’s been a while, Williams-san.」
「Haha, still as formal as ever, huh?」
Williams-san laughed heartily, just as I remembered.
The academy farm had suffered severe damage during the incident with the Mist Witch, but by sharing some herbs from my dungeon farm, they managed to recover. Since then, we’ve continued our relationship through the Rymal Company.
I began by telling Williams-san about the trouble I had with the Dragon Tree Sword.
「Oh, hey, that sounds serious.」
「No need to worry. As you can see, it’s back to normal.」
「That’s a relief. But… doesn’t it seem even more intimidating than before?」
Even though I hadn’t mentioned its upgrade from the hot springs, Williams-san noticed immediately. I guess that’s to be expected from someone who oversees the academy’s farm.
「Yes, it’s been enhanced. Today, I was hoping to get some advice from Slafin-san on how to control its new power.」
「Ah, Slafin-sensei, huh…」
Suddenly, Williams-san’s expression darkened. Kiara was the first to respond to this shift.
「Is something wrong with my mom?」
「No, no, nothing to worry about. She’s just got some visitors right now. She’s busy handling them.」
「I see.」
That was unfortunate timing.
Still, there was no rush, so I figured we could take the opportunity to walk around the academy farm since it had been a while. Just as I was about to suggest this to Williams-san, we heard lively voices in the distance.
「What’s that noise?」
「It seems the school festival has started.」
「Really? It’s already begun?」
I wondered if Kiara and Charlotte needed to participate, but before I could ask, they seemed to anticipate my thoughts. Both of them met my gaze at the same time.
「If you’re worried about us, don’t be.」
「Indeed desu wa. We only have to participate in the afternoon.」
「I see.」
While Kiara and Charlotte could wait here until their turn, I noticed Martina and the others were staring intently in the direction of the festival. Seeing their curiosity, I leaned toward Kiara and Charlotte and whispered a suggestion. They were initially surprised, but soon caught on, and Kiara spoke up.
「If you’re that curious, why don’t you go check out the festival?」
「Huh? But…」
Martina and the others hesitated, stepping back slightly.
But Charlotte’s next words changed everything.
‘It was Bale’s suggestion.’ she said with a grin.
「Go ahead and enjoy it. I’ll stay here and help Williams-san while we wait for Slafin-san.」
This was a rare chance for them to experience the festival.
I wanted them to make the most of it.
And so, we split into two groups.
「Alright then, let’s get you helping with some weeding.」
「Leave it to me!」
Together with Williams-san, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work in the fields.
