「Oh, look, there are others joining in too.」
「That’s because things like this are more flexible out here in the countryside.」
The local farmer’s market allows participation with just a simple notification in advance. However, sales aren’t conducted inside the store but rather as direct sales outside.
Normally, producers would need to sign shipment contracts, become members, and pay enrollment and annual fees. Additionally, there’s a sales commission, which makes it hard for regular folks to get involved.
To address concerns about a lack of products, they started experimenting with an outdoor market. Gaps in the in-store display shelves due to low producer participation were a problem, and this initiative was likely a way to recruit more participants.
We displayed the flowers we’d brought in large vases, and next to them, we arranged the floral bouquets Grandma had prepared.
「Alright, setting up the phone now.」
This was our first time selling at the market, and I planned to livestream it. With the increasing number of viewers on my videos, it seemed like a great opportunity to promote the flowers.
If nothing sells, though, it’ll probably upset Dori.
「Come check out these flowers! How about a bouquet?」
I called out to passersby, but most didn’t show much interest in the flowers, nor did they even glance over.
「People around here tend to grow their own flowers.」
In the countryside, even if people don’t have farmland, they often have gardens or flower beds. Making use of the extra space for something like that is pretty common.

「Excuse me, oneesan, would you like some flowers?」
「Oh my, you’re too kind—I’m clearly more of an ‘auntie’ than an ‘oneesan’!」
It seems we shouldn’t be too dramatic when calling out to people. I’ve always been told to just call everyone “oneesan”, no matter what…
「Would you like some flowers?」
「Wouwd you wike some fwowews?」
「Oh, you’re too cute! I’ll buy some!」
When Dori and I pleaded earnestly, the woman purchased a small bouquet. My grandmother quickly arranged it into a compact, easy-to-carry size.
「Thank you so much!」
「Thank yoo!」
When Dori and I handed it to her together, the woman looked a little shy. Dori and I exchanged glances over our first sale.
「Hehehe!」
「Nihihi!」
We couldn’t help but smile at the joy of selling something we had made ourselves for the first time.

Right now, all we could do was keep selling bouquets. There were still plenty left.
「How about some flowers? They’d look lovely in your home.」
「A perfect gift for your wife, perhaps?」
As I called out to people directly, a small crowd began to gather.
「Your great-granddaughter is adorable.」
The elderly were utterly charmed by Dori, who stood beside me. Even my grandfather couldn’t help boasting about her.
I thought we might have a few left unsold, but before I realized it, every single flower was gone.
「Everyone, we managed to sell everything!」
「We sowd evewyfing!」
We smiled and waved at the smartphone, showing the now-empty vases that once held all the flowers. Only water remained in them now.
For our first day at the farmers’ market, it was a great success. Next time, I think it might be fun to design packaging for vegetables and try selling those.
I should also ask if any of our viewers are skilled in that area.
Our farm’s revival is thanks to the support of our viewers and the videos we share.
「Well then, that’s all for today’s Farm Diary stream.」
「That’s awww!」
With a final goodbye, we ended the stream.
