The enormous dragon we encountered in the Dragonkin village was unlike anything I’d ever seen.
Simone’s dragon form, already massive, seemed like a child in comparison to this behemoth.
Its sheer size left us awestruck, except for one person—Vinessa.
「I’ll never forgive you…」
Her gaze burned with a mixture of anger and hatred, fixed unwaveringly on the colossal dragon. Clearly, there was a deeply personal history here.
As we stood frozen in the presence of the dragon, a voice called out to us.
「C-Could it really be… Vinessa!?」
It was a Dragonkin man.
Judging by his appearance in human form, he seemed a bit older than us. From his reaction, he appeared to know Vinessa. I wondered what their connection might be when—
「Oh, it’s you, aniki.」
Well, that cleared that up quickly.
The man turned out to be Vinessa’s oniisan.
「It’s been centuries….! How have you been? When did you return? Are you eating properly?」
「You’re asking too many questions at once, and stop being so overprotective.」

Apparently, her brother, was a chronic worrier. Watching their exchange, I couldn’t shake the feeling of déjà vu.
「It seems she also has her share of sibling troubles desu wa…」
Charlotte’s soft murmur reminded me of her brother, Lawrence-san.
His overly protective nature had a striking resemblance to him. Lawrence-san’s doting tendencies were, of course, amplified by guilt over the broken engagement between Charlotte and the Blaffer family, which had caused her great distress at the time.
