Chapter 337 – Resolve

The boy who resembled Ailia lay unconscious in my room at the treehouse.

Simone and Hanon stayed to monitor him while Kiara and I met up with Martina and Charlotte to explain the situation.

Once the details were shared, the conversation turned to the person most affected by all this—Ailia herself.

「Ailia, do you have any idea who that boy might be?」

「None at all. Honestly, I’m shocked. I didn’t think there could be someone out there who looked so much like me.」

「With such a striking resemblance, calling him your twin wouldn’t seem strange.」

「Twin……」

The word “twin” lingered in the air, heavy with possibilities.

It wasn’t impossible. Ailia had admitted before that much of her past—aside from her name—was shrouded in mystery.

Perhaps this boy had been searching for a long-lost twin sibling. But why was he being chased by those men?

There was another concern: how all of this was affecting Ailia emotionally.

She’d never had a chance to confront her past before now. The possibility of uncovering it all at once was undoubtedly overwhelming.

Still, one thing was certain.

「Don’t worry, Ailia.」

「Huh?」

「No matter what happens, we’re here for you. We’re your allies, always.」

「Absolutely!」

「We’ve come this far together, haven’t we?」

「When you’re troubled, rely on us.」

「E-Everyone…」

Tears welled up in Ailia’s eyes as she nodded repeatedly, clearly moved.

Claudia-san, watching from a distance, clapped softly.

She could’ve joined in closer, but, well, that was just her way.

Then, Hanon returned with news.

「The boy has woken up.」

Tension rippled through us. Would he reveal a connection to Ailia?

Or was the resemblance just a bizarre coincidence?

We decided that Martina and Kiara would stay behind to support Ailia, while Charlotte and I would go talk to the boy.

But just as we were about to leave, Ailia stopped us.

「Wait.」

Her voice was calm but resolute.

「I want to go, too.」

She stood from her seat with quiet determination.

「Are you sure?」

「Yeah. I think it’s time I face this. I’ve been wondering for a while now—about who I really am.」

…Of course.

Though she always seemed cheerful, the uncertainty about her identity must’ve weighed on her deeply.

Now that she had a chance to uncover the truth, she couldn’t just sit back and wait.

「Alright. Let’s go together.」

「Okay!」

With Ailia leading the way, we prepared to confront the boy and the mystery he brought with him.
