「No… Calm down.」
I forced myself to suppress the anger threatening to take over my thoughts.
(I’m not that strong right now.)
At sixteen, Henry was nothing more than a weakling.
And for the record, I hadn’t received any reincarnation perks or cheat skills from the goddess either.
It wouldn’t have killed her to give me at least one… but since I didn’t get anything, there was no point in complaining.
(I need to get stronger first…)
That was the only logical conclusion.
In this harsh world, where the strong devour the weak, strength is everything.
More than anything else, increasing my combat ability was my top priority.
「Ah…!」
At that moment, a thought suddenly came to me.
Henry had an event that allowed him to evolve into the strongest character.
If this event wasn’t stopped, Henry would become an overpowered enemy, so in the game, it absolutely had to be prevented.
Which meant—
If I, as Henry, completed this event myself…
I could evolve into the strongest character.
(I have to do this!)
With that decision made, I immediately set out for the location of the event.
-0-
And so—
I arrived at Gallein Rock Mountain.
Deep within this rocky mountain lay the 【Spirit Gem】—the key to Henry’s evolution into the strongest character.
I had to make my way to the depths of the mountain, no matter what.
And finally—
I reached my destination.
It was a circular clearing.
Surrounded by jagged rocks and steep cliffs, this was the deepest part of Gallein Rock Mountain.
At its center stood an altar, where the Spirit Gem should have been waiting.
However—
「Hmm…?」
Someone was there.
A figure stood before the altar.
That silhouette… No way.
「Hah?」
The person turned around, as if noticing me as well.
Just as I thought.
「…Derek.」
It was him—Derek.
A male hero with red hair and green eyes.
The very one who orchestrated my exile.
「Well, well, if it isn’t Henry.」
Derek sneered, flashing an insufferable smirk.
