There stood a minotaur-type monster.
It was about three meters tall.
Noticing my presence, the minotaur raised its axe and charged.

I sliced it vertically and horizontally, instant kill.
Just then, a thunderous splash erupted behind me.
From within the river, Nordura emerged alongside a massive monster.
It was a fish-type creature.
Apparently, Nordura had launched it with an uppercut.
She then unleashed a Wind Blade, which slammed into the fish monster.
The creature was cleaved in two.
Using the bisected fish’s body as a springboard, Nordura leapt and landed on solid ground.
「Phew… That monster was lurking in the river. Nearly gave me a heart attack. I thought I was about to be lunch.」
Well, even if she had been swallowed, Nordura could’ve escaped easily.
If worst came to worst, she could just transform into her dragon form inside the monster’s stomach and tear her way out.
「This place seems to be crawling with big monsters. Is the Dragon Ball nearby?」
「Yeah, it’s close, but still a bit further up in the shallow part. We’re deep in the forest, after all. That’s why the monsters are so strong.」
The minotaur and the massive fish monster were high-level enemies.
Nordura and I could handle them easily, but normally, only top-class adventurers would be able to fight them.
「Well, let’s call it for the day. The sun’s already setting. We’ll camp here by the river tonight.」
「Got it.」
Nordura agreed.
We gathered firewood and set up a campsite for the night.

The next morning.
Clear skies.
As the sun began to rise, we packed up the tent and resumed our journey.
We entered the forest.
A dense sea of trees. Mountainous terrain.
The path was harsh, steep descents, some parts nearly vertical climbs.
Fallen trees blocked the way, moss-covered boulders littered the forest floor…
The trail was rough and hard to walk on.
Rather than trying to walk normally, we progressed by leaping to whatever spots looked safe to land.
I jumped onto a rock.
Then to the roots of a massive tree.
Then to a raised mound.
Repeating that process, Nordura and I advanced deeper toward the forest’s shallows.
「Whoa.」
On the way, we encountered a huge monster.
Roughly five meters in length, looked like a komodo dragon.
I instantly killed it with Spatial Severance.
「Hm?」
At that moment.
Something suddenly emerged from the side and sent Nordura flying.
I glanced over my shoulder.
Two ogres with violet skin were swinging at her.
