Our fall finally ended as we landed on solid ground.
Right before us lay the remains of the shattered Diamond Golem, now reduced to nothing more than rubble and debris.
I approached it.
Naturally, the Diamond Golem had been killed by my Spatial Severance.
Nordura shivered in fear.
「To think a monster of that scale was felled in a single blow… Your Spatial Severance truly is a terrifying power.」
「I won’t deny that it’s a kind of invincible ability.」
I replied plainly.
I stepped closer to the remains and placed a hand on them.
Orichalcum, transparent, sleek, and cold to the touch.
「Orichalcum is valuable. I’ll stock it all up. Maybe I’ll reforge some of it into weapons.」
Thanks to my Item Box with infinite capacity, even a hundred-meter golem made entirely of orichalcum posed no problem to store.
I was glad I’d acquired this Item Box for situations like this.
One by one, I tossed the massive chunks of orichalcum into it.
Using Spatial Severance, I also crafted several weapons on the spot, a few orichalcum javelins, and an orichalcum sword.
Compared to mithril, orichalcum boasted both higher hardness and significantly greater magic power density.
It was a clear upgrade from the mithril weapons I had forged previously.
「Now then.」
With the retrieval complete, I turned my gaze past where the Diamond Golem had stood.
A massive door loomed ahead.
The golem had been standing there as a gatekeeper.
「Is what we’re after behind that door?」
Nordura asked.
「Yeah. Time to retrieve it.」
I said and began walking.
I pushed the door open.
A square-shaped chamber was revealed.
At its center stood a pedestal, atop which sat a massive gem roughly a meter in diameter.
A Dragon Ball.
I picked up the Dragon Ball and handed it to Nordura.
「Go on. Eat it.」
「…Do I really have to eat it?」
Nordura asked with a reluctant expression.
「Of course you do. You understand that it’ll make you stronger, right? What’s there to hesitate about?」
「Easy for you to say. You’re the one who swore you’d ‘rather die than eat that thing’, remember?」
She grumbled as she stepped outside the chamber.
There, she activated her transformation ability and returned to her dragon form.
Then she took the orb into her mouth.
And bit down.
Crunching noises echoed.
Immediately after.
「―――――――――」
A strange light enveloped Nordura’s body.
「Oooh! My power is awakening! No matter how many times I experience it, this feeling is exhilarating!」
She cried out in excitement.
