It seemed Black Arrow had begun moving in the shadows once again.
And this time, their target appeared to be the Tavares family, where Martina and her father worked as exclusive chefs.
Not to mention, we ourselves were heavily indebted to their patriarch, Izolov-sama.
He never struck me as a bad person… though, to be fair, Black Arrow’s so-called justice work was from long ago.
There’s no telling whether their grudge involves the current patriarch at all.
「Is something wrong, Bale-dono?」
「Eh? N-no, it’s nothing.」
「…………」
That look from Martina… she was definitely suspicious.
Still, she didn’t press further, probably out of kindness.
It felt like she was silently telling me…I’ll wait until you’re ready to tell me.

At the moment, we were on our usual delivery trip to the Rymal Company.
Today, we had also planned to eat lunch together at a diner in Driessen, so even Claudia-san had joined us.
But the moment we entered the town… something felt off.
The whole place was unusually noisy.
There were clearly more people around than usual.
「I wonder if something happened.」
「T-There are so many people…」
Kiara looked puzzled, while Simone, still not great with crowds, shrank slightly at the bustling street.
Both of them were watching the crowd ahead, but from here, it was hard to tell what exactly was drawing everyone’s attention.

As we stood there, Gregory-san arrived.
「Yo, thanks as always for the delivery.」
「Ah, Gregory-san, perfect timing. What’s with the crowd?」
「I figured you’d ask.」
He looked oddly pleased, unusually coy, even, for someone normally so direct.
It almost felt like he was teasing us.
Eventually, unable to contain himself, Gregory-san finally revealed the reason.
「Get this, Driessen is getting a railway!」
「R-Really!?」
「Yup. The opening ceremony is the day after tomorrow, and operations will begin immediately after. It’ll make traveling to other towns way faster. And on the flip side, more people from distant places will be able to visit Driessen easily.」
In other words, our vegetables and livestock products might reach even more markets.
And a train journey… that sounded pretty exciting.
We usually traveled by riding Simone in her dragon form, but this might be a nice change of pace.
From everyone’s reactions, it seemed that Kiara, Charlotte, and Claudia-san knew what a railway was, but the other three (Martina, Hanon, and Simone) didn’t.
That settled it.
We should ride it at least once, so they could experience it for themselves.
