Chapter 111 – Dungeon 2

Garfinkel’s slash.

It almost landed a clean hit on Nordura.

But she managed to backstep just in time and avoided the blow on her own.

Garfinkel’s sword cut only empty air.

「Phew… A strong monster, to be sure. But I won’t have you underestimate a Blade Dragon.」

Nordura took a deep breath, regaining her focus.

―――Garfinkel readied his sword and stepped in.

In one swift, agile motion, he closed the distance to Nordura and unleashed a spinning slash.

But Nordura swung her spear and met the spinning attack head-on with her own strike.

「!!」

Garfinkel froze for an instant.

In that moment, Nordura fired off a Wind Slash.

It landed squarely, cutting through both Garfinkel’s armor and flesh.

The fight was over.

「Hmm. Well, at the very least, an enemy of that level is manageable.」

「Naturally… or so I’d like to say, but that was tougher than expected. He almost got me for a moment there.」

She was likely referring to the earlier slash aimed at her neck.

Still, she probably could’ve survived even if it had landed.

Nordura wasn’t human, damage to her carotid artery wouldn’t be instantly fatal.

Of course, if her head were severed, that would be the end… but it was unlikely Garfinkel’s blade could cut through bone.

I said,

「In any case, that was just the first floor. The deeper we go, the stronger the monsters, and the more experience we can earn.」

「…If that was the first floor, then yes, the lower levels must yield far more experience.」

Nordura nodded in agreement.

「So let’s keep moving. We’re heading for the lower floors. You’ll be handling every enemy we run into.」

「Every enemy? Don’t be ridiculous.」

「Relax. I’ll be supporting you with psychokinesis.」

With that, I began walking.

Nordura followed behind.

We continued deeper into the dungeon.

When monsters appeared along the way, I first immobilized them with psychokinesis.

Then, Nordura would finish them off with her spirit spear.

With this teamwork, there was no danger of her being overwhelmed, and she could dispatch the monsters safely and efficiently.

Eventually, we came upon the staircase that marked the end of the first floor.

Nordura murmured.

「Already through the first floor, huh?」

「Yeah. Let’s keep descending.」

I said as I stepped onto the stairs leading to the second floor.

From there, we advanced steadily, all the way to the fifth floor.

Starting from the fifth floor, we entered the dungeon’s middle floor.

The monsters here had higher HP and tougher defenses, but…

Nordura’s weapon, Nerisvoln, was a spirit weapon.

Even in a high-rank dungeon, most monsters couldn’t withstand a single blow from it.

They were slain instantly.
