The hooded woman spoke.
「You think we’re joking? Then maybe this will prove we’re serious, I’ll make your cat suffer a little. When you hear her screams, you’ll know we mean it.」
With that, she drew a dagger.
It wasn’t just any dagger, it looked like a fine blade made of high-quality mithril.
She thrust its tip into the cage through a small gap, aiming at Vischy.
But then,
「Crunch! 」
Vischy bit into the blade…
And shattered the dagger’s tip with her teeth.
「Wha…!?」
The hooded woman was dumbfounded.
Vischy flashed a smug grin, then smashed apart the bars of her cage.
「!?」
The woman panicked and let go of the cage.
It hit the ground with a thud, now completely broken.
Vischy crawled out, utterly calm.
She looked toward the two hooded figures and declared:
「To kidnap and imprison me, such insolence knows no bounds, nyaa.」
「Wha…!? The cat talked!?」
The hooded man was stunned.
Monsters capable of speech, like the blade-dragon Nordura, were usually high-level beings.
Even these two could now recognize that Vischy was no ordinary creature.
「And on top of that, to raise a blade against me… that’s double the insolence, nyaa. Other than Henry, no one has ever shown me hostility and lived to tell the tale, nyaa.」
With that, Vischy announced.
「You two are going to die, nyaa.」
In the next moment.
Vischy revealed the magic power she had kept hidden.
It was a terrifying force, so intense, a normal human might faint just by being near it.
And even then, Vischy wasn’t going all out.
This was merely a display, a show of force for the sake of intimidation.
The two hooded figures were dumbstruck.
「Wh-What is this… this incomprehensible magic power!?」
「This is insane… I’ve never seen magic power like this… What the hell is this cat!?」
They were shaking uncontrollably.
I smiled.
「Finally dropped the act, have you?」
「Even without the act, I’m still a cat, nyaa~.」
「Hmph. Spare me the nonsense. Just kill them already.」
「Understood, nyaa!」
Vischy turned her gaze toward the trembling pair.
「Henry is the strongest on the continent, nyaa. Even I have never seen a human as powerful as him, nyaa. And yet you thought you could assassinate him? You really are delusional, nyaa.」
Then she gave her final verdict.
「Next time, choose your enemies more carefully, nyaa. You die here.」
Cold sweat ran down their faces.
Through the hoods, I could see the tension frozen into their expressions.
