「That’s why you’ll serve as my proxy. You’ve read the policy proposal, right?」
「Yes」
「Then you should understand the kind of nation I aim to build. I’ll leave the rest in your hands」
「To be entrusted with such an enormous responsibility is the highest of honors. However… I’m not certain I can fully grasp Your Majesty’s vision, or carry it out exactly as intended…」
Timeria expressed her concern, visibly uneasy.
I told her.
「I don’t expect you to understand my thoughts one hundred percent. I don’t expect you to perfectly interpret or fulfill everything I want. We’re strangers, after all, perfect communication is impossible」
I continued.
「So, ‘as long as it’s mostly right, that’s enough’. If your direction aligns broadly with mine, I won’t complain. I’ll only step in if things veer off course too far, and correct it」
「Understood」
Timeria bowed deeply, accepting the role with formality.
At that point, I decided to present my next plan.
「Also, I’m considering relocating the capital」
For a moment, Timeria’s eyes widened.
Relocating the capital――――a move that would deeply affect both the public and the government.
「Your Majesty, relocating the capital…?」
Her voice carried both surprise and deep concern.
I replied.
「The current capital is limited by its geography. The Bernada Plateau is remote and has weak connections to surrounding regions. It’s defensible, yes, but at this point, I’d rather prioritize economic convenience」
I paused, then continued.
「That’s why I’m thinking of moving the capital to a more open city, *Nofandal*, to make it the new center of the nation’s economy and culture」
A bold plan to relocate the seat of power.
Timeria thought silently for a moment before responding.
「I see… Moving the capital to Nofandal is certainly an innovative idea」
She nodded, then added.
「To be honest, I never would have thought of it. But as Your Majesty says, Nofandal is an extremely appealing candidate for a new capital. The city holds rich natural resources, advanced artisan skills, and serves as a geographic hub for trade with neighboring cities. Making it the capital would streamline both politics and commerce and revitalize the entire nation」
TN: I’m not sure if it intently means “No fun” and “Dull” so let’s leave the spelling as such.
She already seemed to be visualizing the pros, cons, and specific policies surrounding the move.
Timeria really was exceptional, an invaluable subordinate.
「Glad we’re on the same page. Prepare a detailed relocation plan and begin executing it. Like I said before, there’s no need to wait on my approval for every little thing. Handle everything at your discretion」
「Yes, Your Majesty!」
And with that, my meeting with Timeria came to a close.
