I continued.
「First, choose a base to run trial shipments of agricultural products. Once you see how it goes, we can gradually expand.」
Vazel nodded enthusiastically as he jotted notes down.
He already seemed to be working out a plan of action.
「Then, in line with Your Majesty’s vision, we’ll begin reorganizing part of our fleet for agricultural transport and also start preparing warehouse construction. It will likely require substantial funding, but if Your Majesty provides strong backing, it will certainly be worth the effort.」
In other words, he was requesting financial support.
As expected of the head of a major trading company….he remained shrewd even with the king.
I replied.
「Naturally, I don’t intend to hold back my support. I’ll ensure you get the manpower and domestic transport infrastructure you need. I’ll also have Chancellor Timeria coordinate things on the administrative side. I want to make this country even more prosperous. And to do that, we need the strength of logistics companies like yours.」
Vazel’s face brightened.

Before me was the great Erneta River, flowing wide and deep.
The river shimmered under the moonlight like a jewel in the night.
In the distance, the harbor lights flickered.

A staff of the inn called out.
I made my way to the table set near the balcony.
Laid out were luxurious dishes made from fresh local seafood, meats, and vegetables.
I began eating alone.
Outside the window stretched the night view of the river and the harbor town.
The grilled river fish was exquisite, the herbal seasoning perfectly balanced.
I politely declined the inn’s recommended wine and opted instead for a citrus-based juice.

As I ate, I reflected on the day’s negotiations.

Raising the glass to my lips, I gazed at the moon reflected in the river.
