Chapter 217 – Alternate Perspective

<From Nordura and the Others’ POV>

The upper levels of the Amial Dungeon.

They were filled with a fantastical blue glow.

Luminous moss growing from the cave walls lit the dim passageways, casting the silhouettes of four people into view.

「This place… is quite the brutal dungeon.」

Kaiton spoke between ragged breaths.

His magic sword glowed blue, and a streak of blood ran down his sweat-drenched forehead.

「Those monsters just now were a lot stronger than we expected.」

Sarabelle nodded in agreement.

「Yeah. Their movements were unusually well-coordinated.」

「We’re probably getting close to the mid-levels… Dammit, they got me pretty good.」

Zess muttered.

Unconsciously, the three of them turned their eyes to Nordura, who was seated slightly apart from them.

Nordura had her eyes closed, as if deep in thought.

「Hey, Supervisor-san.」

Zess called out.

「Are you enjoying watching us get beat up? Got any advice at all?」

Nordura slowly opened her eyes.

「I’m assessing your capabilities. To be blunt, there are a lot of issues.」

「Issues?」

Kaiton tilted his head.

「You mean there are things we’re lacking?」

Nordura stood and looked around at them.

「Let’s start with you, Zess.」

「…Yeah, what about me?」

「You’re fast, but your endurance is low. You’re especially weak against enemies that can match your speed.」

「Well… you’re not wrong.」

Zess couldn’t argue, it was a spot-on observation.

「Improving your defense is important, but you should also rethink how you fight. Don’t just rely on speed to force your way through. Try incorporating hit-and-run tactics. Even I find enemies that combine speed with hit-and-run attacks to be quite troublesome… Next, Sarabelle.」

Nordura turned her gaze to Sarabelle and pointed out.

「Your whip technique is effective at mid-range, but your response is weak once enemies get close.」

「Yeah, I’m not good at close-quarters combat.」

「Leaving a weakness unattended will only hinder your growth. You need to work on overcoming it.」

Finally, Nordura turned to Kaiton.

He held his breath.

Nordura spoke.

「Kaiton. You’re what I’d call a jack of all trades, master of none.」

「A jack of all trades, huh…」

「You wield both sword and magic like a dual-style fighter, but you haven’t mastered either. Having both means your tactical options double, or more, but that also means you need to think more strategically. Set aside the muscle-brained style of the Warrior Nation of Bernada and aim for a more clever way of fighting.」

「Makes sense… That’s a fair point.」

Kaiton nodded in understanding.

Nordura summarized her thoughts.

「Your abilities aren’t bad. But… there are many areas to improve. Use this training period to work through those challenges as much as you can.」

The three of them nodded firmly at Nordura’s words and returned once more to battle.
