V1 Character Introduction 1

Argusta von Draguknight (Takanashi Takumi)

The third prince of the Univance Kingdom. Son of a concubine. Fourth in line for the throne. Current head of the Draguknight family at age 17.

His family was arrested and executed on charges of treason. He himself was captured and imprisoned, then given an ultimatum: marry Noie to prove his loyalty to the royal family, or choose an honorable death. While bitterly cursing his two far-too-perfect older brothers, he chose to take poison and end his life.

Takumi, who had been drifting as a ghost on Earth, was forcibly summoned and shoved into Argusta’s body by a summoning ritual.

A completely ordinary young man with golden hair and blue eyes.

He has talent in emission-type magic and is also a bearer of a blessing.

About that emission-type thing… he might have forgotten about it.

The nature of his blessing will be revealed in the story eventually. Most readers have probably guessed a fair bit already.

He’s supposedly the protagonist of this work, but he himself prefers to stay one step back.

The type who treasures anything he falls in love with to an extreme degree. If someone badmouths it, he’ll lose all reason and pick a fight without thinking. He’s hot-blooded like that. But since he’s overwhelmingly weak, he usually gets beaten down in return.

He often lunges at Halfren ready to throw punches… though he’d deny it, he’s actually pretty happy to have a “big brother” figure and is mostly just playfully roughhousing.

Back in Japan, his grades weren’t bad, but he never really put his heart into studying, always wondering “Why even bother with this stuff?” So he wasn’t exactly diligent. Still, the kind of guy who made his notes absolutely perfect.

He fell in love with Noie at first sight, and as they spent more time together, he became completely captivated and devoted to her alone.

Once their own home is built, he plans to go all out for that final battle with Noie… though whether he’ll safely make it past that hurdle is unknown even to the author.

If the mood is right, won’t it just happen naturally?

Basically, the straight man of the story.

Noie von Draguknight

The renowned 16-year-old dragon slayer, pride of the Univance Kingdom and one of the strongest on the continent.

A young woman with silvery-white hair and dark crimson eyes.

However, people with these traits do not exist in the Univance Kingdom. The reason for that will come out little by little later.

She’s petite compared to Arg, and her usual armor hides it, but she has a slim waist and surprisingly full breasts.

She has an ahoge that sticks up like an antenna. It’s a very expressive strand… but I don’t expect anyone to care about its hidden backstory, so I’ll skip it. Maybe it’ll come up in the main story?

As a child, her real father tried to kill her to reduce mouths to feed, but she was abandoned on a riverbank instead. There, she was picked up by people gathering orphans and taken to that facility.

Tests revealed she possessed two blessings, so she was subjected to six years of hellish training.

That part of her story will come later. I hope lots of Noie’s secrets get revealed bit by bit.

When the facility was shut down, the muscle prince took her in, and she became a knight apprentice assigned to the royal guard.

From then on, she has continued hunting dragons right up to the present.

Her natural magic is enhancement-type. She is also a user of the otherworld magic known as 『Summoning』. Her blessings are 『Amplification』 and 『Healing』.

She speaks little and doesn’t remember things well partly because those skills aren’t needed for slaying dragons, but mostly because of the ritual arrays applied to her.

Every time she uses her power, it feels as though her whole body is being torn apart, yet thanks to her blessings she can wield it without any delay. The rituals are so intricately intertwined that undoing them is impossible.

I might be able to show an expert’s opinion on her rituals somewhere down the line. Just… it’s pretty gruesome.

She has normal emotions, but because of her past and the environment where showing them wasn’t allowed, even she doesn’t quite understand them herself.

Maybe with some rehabilitation that part will improve?

The thing she’s currently the least aware of, yet causes the most trouble, is what Frea calls “jealousy”.

She was taught that maids are “tools”, so her reactions are dull, but when she learns Arg is getting close with another woman, something deep in her chest starts to churn and irritate her. Then she does things that feel like petty harassment. She’s completely unaware of it herself. Once the irritation in her chest fades (or she forgets about it), the harassment stops.

Her very existence makes her the natural airhead of the story.

I’ll keep introducing characters like this from time to time.
