When I returned to the mansion, it had turned into a small front line base.
「Takato!」
Wondering what was going on, I slowly drove Pioneer toward the shed being used as a garage. The Guild Master was there. Fully armed.
「Even you came, Guild Master?」
「When Misuzu overflow and even a Yamaguro appears, I cannot just sit back.」
Well, thank you for your hard work.
「What is the situation?」
「I would rather hear it from you first.」
In that case, the house. To avoid confusion, I will call the first house they built the annex. Its size is practically a mansion anyway.
Inside the annex dining hall were several Adventurers Guild staff members and messenger adventurers.
「Sorry about this. I forced the issue and borrowed this place. I have instructed everyone not to touch the alcohol or food, so rest assured.」
「Well, alcohol would be a problem, but feel free to use the food and drinks. It is an emergency after all.」
The food in the dining hall was mostly snacks to go with alcohol, and the water was drawn from Home. The coffee and tea were all cheap. I would not regret them being used.
I showed a nearby staff member how to use the portable gas stove and had them prepare coffee and tea.
「Sorry about this. I will add compensation to your reward.」
「There is a reward?」
「If you were not here, Koraus would have suffered devastating damage. The reward is insignificant compared to that. The losses can be covered by the Misuzu and Yamaguro magic stones.」
That is good to hear. It makes the effort worthwhile.
While drinking the coffee they prepared, I told the Guild Master everything that happened since yesterday.
「Even if they were cubs, defeating two of them is impressive. Even a Silver Seal squad might not manage it.」
「The expenses were enormous though.」
I do not know the exact details, but I spent about three hundred thousand yen just on ammunition, and nearly four hundred thousand yen buying Lynx. Altogether, it must have cost around one million yen.
「The magic stone from the Yamaguro cub will be given to you, Takato. It will not fully cover your expenses, but consider the rest as contribution to the guild’s operating funds.」
Well, if I consider this a battle to secure my place here, then it was not a loss. I will accept it that way.
After finishing that discussion, he told me about what happened on Kainzel-san’s side.
Before they reached the Arut River, Misuzu fled toward them. Under Kainzel-san’s command, they attacked from the flank and defeated them. After joining with adventurers from Misrim Town and the city, they eliminated a considerable number.
Then the Yamaguro parent and cub appeared, and battle broke out. Ladarion arrived shortly after. It seems it became a rather intense fight.
Well, it was like heavy tanks fighting each other. Casualties would be expected. It is almost strange that no one died.
「We will search for any remaining Yamaguro. You get some rest. The Adventurers Guild will take over from here.」
「Yes, please. I do not want to move any more than this.」
I overdid it practicing magic. No matter how much someone in their late twenties pushes themselves, it only damages the body. I have to take things slowly and steadily.
Major adventurer teams gathered from each town and split up to search for any remaining Yamaguro.
For now, I returned to Home. Ladarion and Miriel were not there, and a hotel buffet had been purchased.
First, I took a shower and refreshed myself, then opened the beer I had been holding back. No, two cans. It felt like the fatigue was washing away.
「So the reason beer used to blow away my exhaustion was because of the water attribute, huh.」
Even so, proper nutrition must be taken by mouth. I reached for the dishes laid out on the table and ate until I was full.

As soon as I entered the mansion, Sierra was there. Has she not slept?

「No, we were only assisting the Adventurers Guild, so there were no issues. Razul and the others are resting in their rooms.」
Ah, I had forgotten about the boys and girls. I am just glad they returned safely.
「Have you heard about Gorg and the others?」
「They all went back to the village. They said they would come again in the morning, so they should be arriving soon.」
The time was a little past eight. Already working hours.
「I brought three Misuzu. Call Joff and Miral. Since we have the chance, let the staff eat as well.」
How they prepare it is up to Joff and Miral.
TN: Like the usual, Mirla turned to Miral.
「That sounds wonderful! It has been a long time since I last ate Misuzu!」
「Do people in town not get to eat meat?」
I thought I had seen it grilled at stalls fairly often.
「We can eat meat, but Misuzu is rare. It is considered high-quality meat.」
So that is considered high-class. Well, the boys and girls were eating it like crab. It must be a luxury taste for the people here.
I handed the Misuzu to the cook couple and asked them to prepare it for the staff.

「I am glad you are safe.」
「That is our line. You went and fought two Yamaguro cubs. Ladarion told you not to push yourself, didn’t she?」
「It was unavoidable. I did not want to overdo it either.」
If I had not defeated them, the boys and girls would have been killed. And I could not abandon Mildy, who made herself bait to save them. When there is no way to run, you fight and survive.
「We are going to collect the Misuzus. You stay here. Whenever you move, things get bigger.」
「It is not like I am the one causing it.」
Do not talk about me like I am some troublemaker. I am the one getting dragged into it.
「I know. Just stay here for now.」

For some reason, even the wives scolded me. I worked hard, yet it does not feel rewarding at all.
「Everyone cares about you, Takato-san.」
If that is the case, I wish they would at least say something kind. Though, to be honest, that would embarrass me too.
