Following father, who had gone through the reception desk, my husband and I proceeded through the entrance gate next to the reception desk.
We were invited to a special seat that looks like a room so there is no need to show tickets for each person which means there’s no annoyances.
A little further from the entrance gate, on the stairs leading up to the second floor, there were young ladies in colorful dresses and their escorts who were making kyaa kyaa noises while enjoying themselves.
I wondered what’s with the staircase to have them act like that.
「Oh? Oohhh, what’s going on up there?」
「The stairs are moving.」
「The stairs are moving……? Ah, it’s so crowded that I can’t see it.」
「Elfa, how about I hold up so you can see it?」
「Stop joking around! Father, I’m already seventeen.」
「Alright, alright, if we go further, you’ll eventually see it.」
My tall father and my husband seem to be able to see something but I can only see people going up the stairs.
What is happening?
It looks like their legs are not moving.
「Don’t walk when you get on the stairs. Also, please watch your step when you get off.」
A theater employee in well tailored black clothes said those in a clear voice in front of the stairs.
As I approach the crowded staircase and get in line, the line moves forward.
「Ara, the stairs are really moving.」
As we approached, we could see that people were being carried to the upper floor as they stood still.
It was strange to see people moving smoothly without a sound.
It’s amazing desu wa. Schenker can even make something like this.

After father, who was the first to get on the stairs with a stiff step, my husband and I got on the moving stairs.
The stairs don’t have any kind of vibration and just take us to the upper floor.
When I leaned over the railing that moves with the stairs and fearfully looked down on the stairs, my husband, who’s standing next to me, pulled my shoulder saying “That’s dangerous”.
He points to a wall built to separate the automatic stairs from the regular one. There’s a sign warning not to lean over it and some sort of cushion attached to it.
Did someone hit his head on it or something?
「Please get off while looking at your feet. Once you get off, please don’t stop and keep going.」
There are employees at the end, guiding us.
I follow the directions and get off at the end, then accompany father, who wants to watch the stairs a little more from a distance a little away from it.
「That is very useful, why don’t we install one in our house?」
He is smiling as he says so but I wonder how much money it would cost building something that big in our house.
I understand extravagant spendings now that I am in charge of accounting for my husband’s. I’m sure mother went through a lot of hardship too.
「It’s amazing, isn’t it? This moving stairs.」
「Isn’t the owner of this theater Sawadi Slayra? He can make a gigantic beast type magic construct, I’m sure he can make something like this easily.」
「I wish we had one of these.」
「Hey hey, let’s go for another ride.」
The noisy young ladies were talking like that as they scurried down the stairs to the first floor.
Ah, it might have been crowded because people like them kept getting on and off.
「Father, let’s get to our seats.」
「Wait a minute……ah, right, why don’t we buy a drink at that coffee shop?」
Father said so as he pointed at a coffee shop which is well known in the city.
Astrobucks, a store with refreshing green and white interior, a store owned by S Schenker.
「Great, I’ve always wanted to get into this store once.」
「Is it famous?」
I was a little lost as to how to answer my husband’s question.
「……if it’s in this city, I should say yes desu wa. Sawadi-shi runs this coffee shop for commoners.」

I knew that there were some noble girls who would normally go into the store but I just couldn’t bring myself to go there.
