Again, on all fours.
The next attack was with its scorpion tail.
The tip of the tail struck toward the gate. The high-speed barrage of strikes, as fast as a world champion’s jab, still seemed to be stopped in mid-air by the barrier.
「Dzyyyyyyyyyyyyyykkkkkkk!!」
No, really, what’s with this indescribably, awful roar?
Next is the crystal thingy on its back. It’s currently emitting pale red light, making a buzz buzz sound, and suddenly—it attacked with red electric shock.
The electric spark runs in the air but the barrier still blocked it.
The blast radiates from the gate, sliding across the surface of the barrier before scattering away. The trajectory of the spark suggests that the barrier is hemispherical, covering the house like a dome.
Perhaps pissed that even its electric skill didn’t do anything, the shock bear continues to attack us in an aggressive manner. He tried to hit me with both arms, stabbed me with its tail, and struck me with lightning and then rotated or whatever dance-like thing it did. It was a mess.
「Is it this guy……the one who took the dragon?」
I’m sure it’s this guy. He must have been so pleased finding a prey lying around that he came back to see if there might be more free food. I don’t want to think that there is another culprit and that it is planning to visit this place separately.
In any case, what we know at this point is that this shock bear is a much more dangerous creature than the dragon from yesterday. Also, the barrier of my house is so effective that I have not been affected by any attack so far.
And—the fact that my body hasn’t moved since a while ago due to fear.
This isn’t good.

The bear shows no sign of giving up and the house barrier won’t necessarily protect me from attacks indefinitely. This stalemate wouldn’t last forever.
In short, we need to do something.
Is there anything we can use at home? Is there some clever way to fight it off with using wisdom and repel it attack using brains? It would be great if there’s an unexpectedly good item there, won’t it?
However, nothing comes to my mind at all.
Ah, how about pouring gasoline on it and setting it on fire? That might work. Lighting a fire with a lighter would be a fool’s errand but we could make a torch like thing out of cloth and stick. It’s worth trying. However, I wonder if this shock bear will keep rampaging like this until we finish our preparations……
Ugh.
I was in a state of confusion, not sure whether to think or hesitate, when something pulled me back to reality.
「wafu wafu!」
「Hnn……?」
When I looked at the source, I saw Chocola licking my hand.
「What’s wrong? Are you……」
「Bark! Bark bark!」
Chocola was so nonchalant in the face of that dreaded shock bear.
He was not snarling or even a bit aggressive. It looks like he wouldn’t even bother lunging like he did yesterday.
He was trying to get my attention by licking my hand.

When I looked at him, he had a “he finally looked at me” expression and wagged his tail!
Then, the turns to the right, the opposite side where he is,
「Bark!」
Look at this, he said, maybe.
He bit my right sleeve—and made my hand touch the sword.
「Eh……」
The sword was clad in black.
It was hazy, black like ink, it looked sticky and yet somehow elusive—and ill-defined black.

I remember ■ther using magic spe■. ■ther’s was a beautiful violet color but mine was—pure black.

Chocola barked happily.
It looks like he’s happy that I get it.
