The group of female students from the academy had come to the farm, looking distressed after sneaking away from the bustling school festival. As I listened to their story, it became clear what had brought them here.
「We’re from the Cooking Club.」
「The Cooking Club?」
「Yes. We were supposed to serve food at one of the festival stalls for the students and teachers…」 Her voice trailed off, and she seemed on the verge of tears.
But she composed herself and continued, explaining that the vegetables they had planned to use were lost when their cart overturned, spilling most of the produce into a nearby pond and rendering them unusable.
Faced with the possibility of canceling their event, they were desperate to salvage the situation and came to the academy’s farm in the hope of borrowing fresh vegetables.
Unfortunately, the farm specialized in medicinal herbs, not produce, leaving the Cooking Club deeply disappointed. However, Williams-san, the farm manager, provided a glimmer of hope.
He mentioned me—the wielder of the Dragon Tree Sword.
「We heard that you might be able to grow vegetables.」
The girl said, her voice breaking into a tearful plea.
Seeing her in such a state, I couldn’t bring myself to refuse.
「……Williams-san.」
「What’s up?」
「Would you mind lending me part of the farm for a bit?」
「Of course. Do what you need to. Here’s the list of vegetables they need.」
「Thank you.」
Williams-san’s quick understanding and willingness to help, even providing a list, was just like him. And after my earlier clash with Dirk, which hardly counted as a real fight, I had a lot of pent-up magic power I was itching to release. This was the perfect opportunity.
I found an empty space on the farm and thrust the Dragon Tree Sword into the ground.
Magic power flowed from the blade into the earth, and vegetables sprouted at an incredible speed.

It felt much smoother than before.
Since its revival in the hot springs, it became more powerful that I am having a hard time controlling it, but now, after that encounter with Dirk, it was as if I’d unknowingly grasped a new trick.
While I was lost in thought, the vegetables on the list were already grown. Since the scale was smaller this time, there shouldn’t be any noticeable changes in flavor. I handed one of the Flame Tomatoes to the girls to try.

They all exclaimed in unison, their expressions beaming with delight.
It looked like their food stall could be saved.

They all said, bowing deeply. They immediately set to work harvesting the vegetables. One of them ran off to call for more help from the academy, and soon Kiara, Williams-san, and I joined in, working together to gather the produce.
「We’re so sorry for the trouble……」
「Don’t worry about it. We help each other when we can.」
Thanks to this, I think I’ve gotten the hang of my new Dragon Tree Sword’s abilities. It’ll be good news to share with Slafin-san.
