Chapter 46 – The Ores of the Rockfield

The vast rocky plain stretched before me.

There were no people.

No paved roads.

All that existed were—

Grass,

Rocks,

Trees,

Beasts,

Monsters,

—And more.

As I made my way through the Fiorito Rockfield, I effortlessly tore through the monsters in my path.

The place was serene.

The landscape was breathtaking as well.

It carried the grand majesty of nature.

It was the perfect setting for a stroll or a picnic.

「Hm…? What’s this?」

As I walked, something caught my eye.

A rock-filled stratum.

And embedded within it, an ore that emitted a dull glow.

(Mithril. But low-purity.)

Mithril—an essential material for forging weapons and armor.

Its quality depended on its purity.

For example, high-purity mithril had the ideal balance of hardness and flexibility, making it the perfect material for strong, durable gear.

But the higher the purity, the harder it was to obtain.

What I had found was low-purity mithril—of poor quality.

Still, mithril was mithril. It had some value, even if it wasn’t particularly precious.

But—

(I wonder if I can refine it with Psychokinesis… Might as well try.)

I focused my power.

First, I used Psychokinesis to carve out the stratum, extracting the mithril ore.

Then, I manipulated the ore at a molecular level, attempting to remove its impurities.

「Oh…」

It worked.

I had successfully created a purer form of mithril.

—But not perfectly.

What I had refined was standard-grade mithril.

To further purify it into high-purity mithril, I would need far greater control over my Psychokinesis.

With my current skill level, that was still beyond me.

(Still… Even standard mithril can make powerful weapons.)

With that thought, I decided to put my newly refined mithril to use.

I forged it using Psychokinesis—

A mithril bow,

Mithril arrows,

A mithril javelin,

—And more.

From now on, in addition to Psychokinetic Combat, I’d incorporate these weapons into my arsenal.
