「「『Dungeon Menu』」」
「We said it at the same time」
「Yeah」
Nana-san and I gathered in my room for the dungeon meeting.
When we opened the Dungeon Menu for now, we somehow said it in unison.
「More importantly, Nana-san. Look at the points」
「Hmm… yes, it looks like there is no problem with the points」
「Right? So, it is about time we make it」
「Indeed. Let us make it then. The 4-1 area」
The dungeon meeting has probably been held dozens of times by now.
Today’s topic is 4-1.
「If it is 4-1, will it be a field-type area?」
「That does seem likely」
「Both 2-1 and 3-1 were like that, after all」
Both 2-1 and 3-1 were huge field-type areas.
If we follow the existing pattern, then 4-1 should also be a field type.
「2-1 was a forest field」
「Yeah」
A forest field.
A forest field I love dearly. A forest field where I once debated building a vacation home. A forest field I ultimately did not build one in because it sounded like too much trouble.
「3-1 was a plains field」
「Yeah」
A plains field.
Since 2-1 was a field that was basically nothing but forest, I made 3-1 a field that was basically nothing but plains.
Like the forest field, it is a massive circular field with a diameter of five kilometers. Just a vast, empty stretch of open land.
「Come to think of it, when I looked yesterday, there were vegetables growing」
「Pardon? In the 3-1 area?」
「Yeah」
「…Ah, now that you mention it, there were people who started farming there」
I had already confirmed some time ago that someone had started doing that. And when I looked yesterday, the vegetables had grown properly.
「They really do grow, then…」
「Seems like it」
「I am a little curious. What do they taste like?」
「They were normal. Just normal and tasty」
「Oh? So, Master has already tried them?」
「Nana-san ate them too」
「What?」
The person growing vegetables in 3-1 was someone I knew, so when I greeted them, they casually gave me some.
When I brought them home and handed them to Mother, they showed up at dinner.
「The carrots and onions from yesterday’s dinner were harvested in the dungeon」
「Huh? The carrots and onions in the stew?」
「Yeah」
「So those were dungeon carrots and dungeon onions?」
「I do not know if that is their official variety name, but yes」
「I see… I ate them without noticing… Actually, I cooked them without noticing…」
Apparently, the dungeon carrots and dungeon onions had grown so well that even Nana-san, who actually cooked them, did not notice anything unusual.
「More importantly, they are safe to eat, right…?」
「Well, probably」
「Probably?」
「The person who grew them checked for toxicity properly and said they were fine after eating them themselves, so I think it is okay」
「I see… I would have appreciated knowing that beforehand」
「Ah, yeah. Sorry」
They looked like normal carrots and onions, and the taste was no different, so I had completely forgotten until now.
I did tell Mother, but it seems the information did not reach Nana-san.
「So Nana-san, what did you think of the taste?」
「They really did taste like normal carrots and onions. They were good」
「Right? For now, we know that vegetables can be grown normally in the dungeon」
With this, more people might start growing vegetables and fruits in the 3-1 area.
Personally, I do not mind what explorers do in the plains area. They can grow whatever they want, and if they want to build houses and live there, that is fine too.
Though I do worry a bit about land ownership disputes happening later on…
「We have strayed quite far from the topic」
「Ah, yeah」
We go off topic like this every time, so I guess that is why we end up holding meetings dozens of times……
「Now then, about the main topic, 4-1. The question is what kind of field to make」
「Yeah」
「A mountain, a river, a volcano, a snowy mountain, a desert, the sea, or perhaps forested hills」
「Forested hills……」
Forested hills might not be necessary. It feels like they would not be much different from the forest field in 2-1.
「What do you think, Master?」
「Hmm…… If we go with a volcano or the sea, would not the difficulty spike too much all of a sudden?」
「That is true. Going from plains straight to a volcano would be quite a jump」
A volcano or the sea feels too early. Somehow, it just does.
「Then shall we go with mountains?」
「Mountains, huh」
「Well, depending on the type, mountains can also be quite high in difficulty」
「A high-difficulty mountain would be… like Everest or K2? Well, yeah, if we made something that tall」
Though come to think of it, could I even make a mountain that tall?
……Actually, it feels like I could do it surprisingly easily. Depending on the costs, it might even be cheaper than making no-kill giant rats.
「What shall we do? Want to try making one?」
「Hmm. Everest might be a bit dangerous, right? Would it be okay?」
Father or mother could probably climb up and down without oxygen like it was nothing, but still……
「Then how about something like Mount Takao?」
「Mount Takao……」
They are both mountains, but the difference is extreme……
Still, Mount Takao. It was popular even in my previous life. Maybe it would become popular here too……?
「Everest and Mount Takao. They are pretty much opposites, but which would be better?」
「Hard to say. Even for climbing, the nature of the experience would be very different」
「Yeah……」
「If that is the case, why not make both?」
「Ah, right. I see」
I see, I see. There is no need to force myself to choose just one. I can simply place two of them side by side.
……That said, putting Everest next to Mount Takao somehow feels unfair to Mount Takao.
If Everest were right next to it, Mount Takao would probably feel intimidated.
……Maybe I should put Mount Fuji in the middle.
「Or how about a river?」
「A river, huh」
「We could let lots of rivers flow across the field」
「Hmm. Fishing or having BBQs sounds like it would be fun」
There is no charcoal in this world, though……
「Making a lake might also be nice」
「I see. A field meant for enjoying water activities」
That could work. It does sound like a fun field.
People could swim normally, and making a big lake for canoeing might be interesting too.
If it is a canoe, I could probably make one myself.
It feels a bit strange that making a canoe might be harder than making a lake……
「Now then, Master. We have laid out a few points to consider――」
「Yeah」
「So, which will it be? Mountains or a river?」
「Hmm……」
This is hard. Which one should I choose?
Personally, a river sounds more fun, but for some reason Mount Takao is also quite appealing……
「Which do you prefer, Nana-san?」
「Let me think. Both sound enjoyable」
「Yeah」
「River rafting――was that what it was called? I would like to try that」
「I see」
「That said, I also quite like hiking」
「Mm-hmm」
So for Nana-san, either option works.
Mountains or a river. Now then, what should I do?
……This is kind of irrelevant, but this does not really feel like a dungeon meeting to decide the next area.
It feels more like a family meeting about where to go during summer vacation.
