It was easy to develop a machine with such a simple structure because it is relatively easy to reproduce to a magic construct.
Well, it is said that elevators have already been installed in the Grand Theatre in the royal capital but our theater has the first ever escalator in the world.
In any world, being the first is always great!
「Ah, master! Thanks for your hard work!」
「Yeah, same to you.」
When I went upstairs, the slaves who were moving the chairs in the café overlooking the hall of the first floor bowed to me.
The café is, in essence, the thing we have in the city, Astrobucks.
The uniforms are much more chic than the other stores to match the atmosphere of the theater but the service is the same.
The café will also serve food and beverages to the VIP seats where nobles will watch the play.
「We’ll be open for business the day after tomorrow, do you find any problem here?」
「Everything’s okay here!」
The café space set up on the second floor is well lit from the windows and has a nice atmosphere.
I’m sure that after it opens, theatergoers will fill this seating area with a lively atmosphere.
If it doesn’t, we can change the location where the tickets are taken to let the general public in. Though it’s only on the second floor and the view isn’t that great, Astrobucks is always in demand.
After circling around the second floor, I checked inside the auditorium.
Inside, the seating was sloped gently from the back to the stage and was dimly lit.
On the stage, the actresses seemed to be in the middle of rehearsing and I could hear their lines echoing cheerfully along with the orchestra’s music.
It’s looking good. I’m looking forward to the opening day.
I checked the footlights in the guest corridor, made sure the air conditioning was working, closed the thick doors, and took the escalator to the third floor.
「It’s interesting that even the handrails move~」
Rafi leaned forward as if she was riding on the railing. Her small tail wags happily and her body shape combined with her body movements made her look like a little girl.
Her head collided with the vertical wall with a sign saying “Don’t lean out”, making a dull sound.
「Ouchhh~!」
「That was a close call, if you got stuck back there, you would have lost your head.」
「Hieee!」
Well, the wall was built to prevent that from happening. However, you can never be too sure……safety first please.
I’ll call Moimo later and have her cushion the wall.
I designed it with safety in mind.
For example, the start and end line of the escalator have openings big enough for hand to enter. However, if a foreign object enters those openings, the magic construct will sense it and disengage the gears inside for an emergency stop.
I also wrote a warning to lift up the hemps of clothes that might get sucked in. However, I’m not really worried about that since there are not many people who wear clothes like those in Torquiva to begin with.
For now, I have prepared escalator girls, not elevator girls, so if any problem arises, they can deal with it immediately.
「This moving ground is very impressive. I want one in the dormitory.」
「It eats a lot of magic crystals.」
We can no longer use magic crystals without limit.

As I got off the moving escalator that was making a low driving sound, I found a lot of oil paintings prepared by our artist department on the walls of the 3rd floor.
「Why is there a lot of paintings on this floor?」
「The 3rd and 4th floors are planned to be for events use so we can only decorate them with paintings for now.」
「Hee~. Ah, Roast-san’s painting.」
Rafi pointed to a painting of the fishkin Roast, a member of our adventurers group, dressed in white and divine costume with a red crest.
Why is a painting of a member decorated at the best place…..?
I think it’s a nice painting though.

Rafi and I went around the floor looking at the paintings on display and after checking out the floor like we did on the second floor, we took the escalator to the 4th floor.
By the way, for some reason, the subject of the paintings was biased toward our female adventurers……were the painters their fans or something?
Well, it doesn’t really matter since the paintings were just for display.
